Bodyline Review

As usual I have disappeared again -_- Not by fault of my own I promise! I'm so busy with work nowadays and trying to organise things, bah. Anyhow, I put in an order with bodyline just for some shoes and a pair of OTK socks, and wanted to share my experience with you :)

Ordering 5/5
I normally don't have issues with Bodylines website, even though the interface is lacking in user-friendly-ness, but ordering is relatively simple so I had no problems... Add to cart, pay, done!

Communication 4/5
I got a confirmation email immediately after paying, but I received a strange email a few days later saying something like, 'Don't worry your items are on their way, there was no problem." I'm not sure why they sent that.. Maybe as a precautionary email in case something went wrong? haha..

Shipping 5/5
Considering the public holiday that lasted from Fri
day until Tuesday, It was a speedy delivery(a week). I selected DHL purely because of the holiday shipping and such. Normally I'm not fussed with EMS which is calculated by weight, so next time when I order say, a heap of socks, I'd rather EMS.. DHL has a really cool feature that you can sign up to be notified when your parcel is moving and tell you where it is. It was extremely handy because I'm not always home, but I knew when it was in the city so I could be here. :) Packaging-wise, it looked like it went through a shredder or something! Nothing was harmed but still, be nice to other peoples stuff guys!I know you cant really see it in this photo, but the bottom left corner is all shredded and holey and such.. The other side is as well but that has my address plastered all over it ^_^

This is the Shoes and Socks straight out of the package... There is a *strong* chemical
smell from the shoes. Its been a day now and they've aired out so it's all good :) I think if I order shoes again, in a lighter colour, I might order a crushable hat with them, they always seem to send those in boxes, and therefore will maybe not come all scuffed and abused?

Shoes 5/5
I purchased Shoes152 in the matte black colour, in a size 25.5.. I'm normally a US/AU size 9-9 1/2 depending on the brand, but I measured my feet and 25.5 was the closest.. They fit SO comfortably! In my opinion I like the extra room, it means I can wear thicker socks :) As far as quality, they're just as goo
d as any other non-leather shoes I would buy, and for only $37? You can't really go wrong.

Socks 4/5
Socks279.. Normally there's no problems with socks, and this isn't really a problem so
much as me being nit-picky.. :P
Here they are when you pull them out of their little package;

Cute hey? The lace is soft, and they have little bows on the front... right?
Wrong! One has a bow on the front, the other is a bow on the... back? Weird.. Nothing that can't be fixed by twisting the top half of the sock a little... But I might either take both bows off completely, of take the right one off and re-position it.. Otherwise this is a lovely pair of socks. Thin-ish while still be
ing opaque. Like business socks I'd say! Another thing, these are perfect length! I'm nearly 5'10 and are a good few inches above my knees. I was really worried after hearing some socks end up not even going up to some girls' knees when they're advertised as nearly thigh high! But I'm happy with them nevertheless.

Overall 4/5
Minus the baaddddd chemical smell and the backwards bow, I'm thoroughly happy with my order :) I'm planning on doing a big sock order in the future as well so it should be fun!
In other news, I will be putting in a F+F order soon for a new skirt and JSK, so be on the lookout :)

Updates :)

Well that was fun, now back to what I'm supposed to be doing :)

Since last post I have finally acquired a Glomesh purse, thanks to my MIL for Christmas :) It's the
black one I spotted at The Mill awhile back. I haven't had a chance to take it out yet but I will someday..
Next up we have a pair of shoes I had been working on. I've owned them for years but don't wear them much anymore and wanted to give them a new lease on life :) Enter copious amounts of glitter and modge podge!

Excuse the raisins! and the sock >.> ..... Anyway this was multiple coats of modge podge mixed with glitter, then the final layer of glitter *on* modgepodge.. I was thinking of spraying them with a lacquer or something but so far it makes it less sparkly.. And that would defeat the purpose..

Here we have my new favourite lashes, purchased for $2.80 from Daiso! The glue that comes with them is super good and lasts ages without falling off. These lashes are 3/4 length which I prefer just because they're easier to put on :)
They are super comfortable and I might need to go buy another pair cause I accidentally pulled some of the lashes out :( I have bought several pairs from Daiso and have to say, they're just as good if not better than the ones from Inglot(which are exppeennssiivveee!).
Onward! I picked up a few nail polishes and so far the one I've actually worn regularly is this one..It's made by Blush Amour, which it says is an Australian company. The colour is #79, best described as a metallic Lamborghini orange :) It costs about $2 and can be bought from most $2 shops. I got mine from the Bargain Trendz shop in Newmarket Plaza, in Flemington. I also bought 4 other colours but haven't had a chance to test drive them yet. So far though they are very smooth going on, not clumpy or thick, but
not too watery. Very quick drying in my experience with them but could just the the bottles I bought :P And when I'm not working(My hands are constantly either being washed or under water) the polish lasts quite awhile without chipping away.
And finally the hairstyle I've been wearing when I can't be bothered doing anything with it :)

I actually did this in the park because it was so humid outside and I needed to put my hair up and off my neck, this was the end result and I was so happy with it that I do it regularly now :)

Anyway, I intend to post more often. I promise! With Tuesdays as a mandatory posting day, especially if I haven't posted all week. (Tuesdays are my day off!)

Maybe it's a good thing I have no spare cash :)

Helloooo, I'm sure you're all just dying to know where I've been . Hubby and myself have been quite ill recently with some sort of nasty viral infection (ew) and instead of getting to stay home and recover, we've been dragged every which way recently. No matter! I'm back with more things I can't afford!

So here in Aus it was fathers day a week or so ago, so Az and I headed down to the beach to spend the Sunday with his family. After the massive lunch and almost falling asleep part of the day, Aaron's sister suggested we go to a place called 'The Mill', which was only described to me as 'an antique shop.'
The only website I could find was this here, pseudo-site. We were at the Geelong one.
They boast something like over 50k items for sale and such, but I had no idea what to expect. We pulled into the parking lot of a massive, and I mean massive barn shaped building.

As you walk in you get that nice musty antique-y smell and are immediately bombarded with thousands of items. One of which is Glo-mesh (insert drool here) with
the keen eyes of myself, Aarons mum and sister, we found stacks of the stuff. Hong kong mesh as well as original Glo International Glomesh, some even in original boxes.
(Warning: Image heavy)

So really, the only reason I don't currently have every item there in my possession is because I had no money on me at the time. :(
What surprised me even more was the pricing some people put of those items. There were
Hong Kong alumesh bags in terrible condition selling for $25! If it's not real glomesh I wouldn't even pay that for it, even in good condition. I saw the same wallet I bought not too long ago only it was real glomesh going for about $20 I believe it was. Of course, the gold bags were fetching a pretty penny at around $60-$80, keep in mind they were in their original boxes. Regardless of my fetish, we trudged on through The Mill. And I can safely say that I will be back, as soon as I have some extra money:) But hey, Christmas is coming around soon now isn't it :P
Another thing that caught my eye while I was there was this beautiful dress,

Though for some reason I had a feeling it would never fit me, it just *looked* too small. But for $45, it was almost too good to abandon. Alas, my husband gave me that look and I let it go, though next time I'm around, if it's still there and it does fit, it's mine mwahahahah.

Anyhow that's enough for the moment, I just needed to update and get these photos off my camera :)

Retail Therapy

So I've been buying a lot of small things lately, not big purchases or anything. A few dollars here and there on things I think are cute. So here's what I've recently purchased and my excuses for spending money.

1. Mini Mirror Keychain
Reason for purchase: Needed a small mirror to fit in my small make-up bag.
From Diva, $4.99

It Has two mirrors, one on either side and is about the size of a 50 cent piece, only oval shaped :)

2. Aluminium tin with 30 brunette bobby pins

Reason for purchase: I needed more bobby pins and the little case was cute. Also fits into my make-up bag :)
From Diva, also $4.99

If you have a look, it's actually in one of those Eclipse Mint tin looking tins, with the flip top. The brunette ones are perfect for my darkish blonde hair as the blonde ones were very golden coloured.

3. Splash Nail Glitter

Reason for purchase: Um, because it's sparkly? Also thought it might look nice on a set of nails, so I'm currently testing it and will let you know the details!
From Groove, $7.99

Now, look at this in its not open state, yeah loose glitter, nothing special.

THIS STUFF IS SO RIDICULOUSLY SHINY!

4. Designer Brands Lip Liner (Red Hot Red)
Reason for p
urchase: I was running out of lip liner, and although I sell Avon myself, I'm a tight-arse to the nth degree and refuse to pay an arm and a leg for something like lip liner, no matter how good it is!
From My Chemist, $4.00

This stuff is fantastic, I already use DB's Kohl eye-liners, and this is just as good as other products I've used. (Plus it goes perfectly with my lipstick.)

Application of liner. It goes on quite smoothly.

My current shade of lippy, Really Rosy Mega Impact by Avon

Finished product, the white balance is slightly out so I apologise.

I will leave you with that, I'm off to finish making dinner. Note to self: Never cook snapper again, too many stabbing bits!

Vintage Sales and Alumesh

So yesterday I went to my first vintage sale! It was a bit daunting, just because I wasn't sure what to expect, or how much money I would spend. So my hubby dropped me off, gave me some cash and said he was going to the gym. I walked into Vintage Garage and all the staff were lovely, assuming I wanted to go to the garage sale they pointed me towards the back of the shop where I was greeted with racks upon racks upon baskets chock full of clothes. I didn't know where to begin, so I sort of haphazardly sorted through a rack of dresses, but apparently it was still early enough that they were still putting more on the rack. I decided I might need more cash, even though it was a 'Nothing over $10' sale, you can never be too prepared! Luckily I didn't spend half as much as I thought I would, I actually only picked up two things(amazingly).
A Carla Carini skirt
Add Image
And a Schneberger Dress

Both are amazingly comfortable pieces, considering I wasn't even sure either would fit!
Afterwards I had a look through the actual shop itself, and found some things to put on my wish list.
Vintage Garage

Continuing my journey via tram to Brunswick street to find Hunter Gatherer in Fitzroy.
It's quite a small shop but if you look closely you will find some real gems! I snagged these to alumesh pieces for about $7 total. The small one is a key purse, so there are little hooks to hang your keys on, plus a little pocket for, well, whatever you want I guess! The bigger of the two is a wallet, with coin purse attached.

Both of them are in quite good condition, just needing some care and cleaning. Oh and they are also different types of mesh, if you can see in this photo, the wallet has a dimpled mesh.Anyhow I thought I did quite well for myself, seeing I only spent $27. I also treated myself to some San Churro hot chocolate to stave my addiction. Hehe.
I will leave you with that, as I must now tackle my end of the week washing, *le sigh*.

New Tights!

I don't consider myself a "Curvaceous" woman in any way shape or form, but for some reason every pair of stockings I've come in contact with treat me like an anorexic popsicle stick. So while I was taking part in my ritualistic retail therapy at the beginning of the paycheck, I came across 'Razza matazz Curvaceous pantyhose'. Having a look at the back of this pack and a normal set of the same brands stockings, I seem to be on the borderline of normal and curvaceous because of my height! So taking the advice on the back of the package that I "may prefer the larger size" I proudly took home my first pair of 120D stockings.
(Note, there are 2 sizes to choose from, 1 or 2. Size 1 is up to 175cm in height and up to 100kg. Size 2 is up to 185cm and 125kg.) I can probably say that I could almost, almost go home with either size really. I hate having too tight tights(oh the irony!) I like them to be comfortable and functional of course, but who said they have to cut off the circulation to stay on?! Anyhow, they are *very* comfortable and the 120 denier make these oh so worth the $10 I spent on them. They are very soft and because they are of the nature of most hosiery, I think anyone with 'a little bit of leg' could manage these.
I also think that because they are almost as opaque as my leggings, that I might just use these instead! And yes, this is a late winter purchase but it's still bitterly cold outside, and I needed new ones!

Final verdict I guess is that even though you are shelling out a bit more for only one pair, they feel like they will last much longer than normal stockings. They are also comfortable for pretty much anyone who can't stand even the X-tall of most normal stockings.
Where to buy - I bought mine at Big W but I know you can get them at most places like Target and Kmart.
Price - This pack was $10.83 at Big W in the City, not sure if price varies much from that though.
Also, I bought myself some new hairspray since I have been out for weeks/months/I can't even remember the last time I had hairspray. I mainly bought it because I tried this last night; And it didn't stay up like it was supposed to because I had no hair product in my bathroom whatsoever!
Regardless, I will prevail! Tonight I am making steak and kidney pie, and possibly peanut butter cookies!
